Becoming the Artist

"The music was always there. Now I'm giving it a voice." - Tari

Welcome to Tari Purcell. He is a seasoned singer and multi-instrumentalist from Macon, Georgia. Tari plays bass guitar, drums, trumpet, and acoustic guitar, but primarily play keyboards and sing covers as a solo act, frontman and background singer with several local bands.

He started his musical career as the drummer for his home church at the age of 10.  At 12, he began learning piano, singing, and playing organ for his young adult choir. First semester of his senior year of high school, he picked up the trumpet and achieved 1st Chair in the marching band while playing keys in the jazz band and singing baritone in the philharmonic chorus all the same semester.

As a singer and musician in the business over 30 years, Tari has had the opportunity to sing and play behind national artists including gospel singers Byron Cage, Dottie Peoples, Fred Hammond, and Dorinda Clark-Cole. Before Covid, he was a featured live performer with Disney Cruise Line in their French Quarter room aboard the Disney Wonder. Since then, he has been a full-time professional performer for corporate as well as private clients. He is grateful to have built a career entertaining audiences full-time, performing at weddings, banquets, corporate events, birthdays, anniversaries, and more. Tari also works as a freelance musician with other bands and artists.

For years, Tari has helped others bring their music to life while putting his own artistry on hold. For decades, he's sang other people's thoughts and feelings. Now, he's ready for the world to really hear his voice.

Tari Purcell is expanding his wheelhouse to include songwriting and currently working on his debut single, “Loss For Words.”
